Application Process for Freelance Visa
To apply for a virtual work residence visa, freelancers can use the ICP’s website or the smart application (UAEICP). Once the visa is approved, the applicant must enter the UAE within 60 days to complete the residence visa application process. It is important to note that failure to enter the UAE within the permitted timeframe will render the permit invalid.
Eligibility Requirements for Freelance Visa
The virtual work residence visa is available only to applicants who hold a passport with a minimum validity of six months, have a recent photograph, and possess a valid health insurance policy. Additionally, to be eligible for the virtual work residence visa, freelancers need to meet the following financial requirements:
- Minimum Earnings: Freelancers must provide a bank statement showing a minimum earning of Dh360,000 for the last two years or the equivalent amount earned in any other currency.
- Salary Slip and Bank Statements: Applicants must also provide a salary slip from the previous month and three months’ worth of bank statements.
Automatic Decline and Refund Policy
If an applicant does not meet the financial requirements, their application will be automatically declined online after 30 days. However, it is important to note that the fee and financial guarantees are refundable if the request is declined by the ICP, in case the application is returned thrice for the same reason.
Fee for Virtual Working Program
The fee for the virtual working program is AED350 per person. Once the fee is paid, all applicants will receive the entry permit and all details via email.
Renewal of Virtual Work Residence Visa
The virtual work residence visa is valid for one year (365 days) and can be renewed further under the revised terms and conditions of the visa by the UAE Government.
